Kilbourne (+Stud1nt & DJ puff_mommy)

Art House // Thursday 9 PM

Facebook Event

Ashe Kilbourne '14 returns to Wes to expertly splice Top-40 and collabs with the likes of Rizzla into your head, reclaiming women's voices in the process. It's gonna be hard and heavy, "bangin," one might say. Assert the accessory, challenge the party power. Dancing won't be a challenge.

Stud1nt's buoyant beats bubble and burst, breaking bumpin' blaps bleeps bloops and blurbs into bits. In your ears.

Porches & Frankie Cosmos (+Beverly Tender)

Eclectic // friday 10 pm

Facebook Event

Porches frontman Aaron Maine traverses between the galaxies of musical genres through a project that attempts to capture the experience of moving to and living in New York City through the eyes of a disconnected protagonist, Ronald Paris. Join Maine’s adopted persona and his accompanying band (which includes Greta Kline of Frankie Cosmos) on their mystical journey on Friday night; things might even get otherworldly.

Band frontwoman Greta Kline adopts her own persona in four-piece musical endeavor Frankie Cosmos, which features enigmatic Ronald Paris on drums and Maine’s brother, David, on bass. The group’s name derives from Kline’s affinity for the poet Frank O’Hara and Maine’s own perception of the cosmic nature of her music. Get friendly with the intertwined groups at Eclectic and witness Kline’s musical take on a New York City excursion and classic American poetry.

After opening for Girlpool in early February having played their respective instruments for mere months, Beverly Tender are bringing their fresh icicle rock sound back to a Wes concert on Friday night to start listeners on their genre-crossing musical journeys.

Schwab ep release show
(+all-caps ladd & phatrabbit)

Art house // saturday 9:30 pm

Facebook Event

Schwab is a mellow indie 3 piece soaked in 90’s-inspired melodic melancholy. Hard to describe but easy to love, this band came onto the scene fully formed with something to say. Check out this concert as they release their debut EP recorded at Wesleyan’s own Red Feather Studios.

What more can be said about all-capps LADD, the best Interpol cover band on campus? Sorry, sorry, only joking. These boys have been slaying it with angular and interesting indie rock for many a year at good ol’ camp Wes. Always a good show.

“I fucking love Phatrabbit. She’s so fluffy.” — V.E. ‘17

DJ SYLO (+fidel, ron beatz & m. vaughn)

westco cafe // SAturday 9 pm

Facebook Event

STUNTLOCO “loves you,” says their website. STUNTLOCO is DJ SYLO (with Fidel), who plays everything from “funk to hip-hop” and can rock diverse crowds, with festival and international club experience.

Joining these guys are Wesleyan dudes  Ron Beatz (“rated G” LA native) and  M. Vaughan (“real sultry dance floor shit” producer).

STEREOCURE SHOWCASE
NOVELTY DAUGHTER

LEAFTYPE's synth-drones swoop at ya riding a wave of playful techno.
