Rhys Langston "Expository Sext"

A transnational telegram direct from Langstonia: "Rhys Langston, here, reporting live from Mérida, Yucatán. Well, Jim it's all good fun out here but I have to be honest I've been enjoying the regular weekend updates at Aural Wes. By golly living vicariously through the Internet I can remember the public awkwardness while surrounded by musical accompaniment."

"Little Memory" and Time-Soul: Meet Overcoats

Overcoats is the only thing Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell want to do. All day, every day, they tell me. Sitting in Hana’s sunny bedroom, I’m chatting with her and JJ about Overcoats, their electro soul-folk project. Hana’s bed—“our bed,” as the two of them describe it—is where Overcoats happens. It’s where Hana and JJ (both class of 2015) write their songs, merging artistic visions that come from different places but always end up in the same place. They joke that they’re literally merging as people, sometimes unable to distinguish one’s voice from the other in their songs. What comes of this, they tell me, is a musical project with coherence and sound that neither of them have attained before, and they’re really excited about it. Their excitement certainly isn’t misplaced.

"No Swipes"

"No Swipes" surfaced today on WesACB, the dank internet underbelly of the Wesleyan consciousness, and proved immediately divisive. Initial reactions on the ACB ranged from "scik video guys" and "Who's on the first verse? I'm tryna fuc" to "this video was so bad that even isis thinks it is torture."  Whatever you think, there's no doubt that this one's a banger.

Come Party with O Presidente // New Single, LP and Album Release Show

Wesalums Andrew Zingg ('13) and Tobias Butler ('13) play in O Presidente, a surfy doo-wop influenced rock band from the Bay Area. O Presidente just dropped "Party with Me," a sunny, thoroughly convincing call to drop whatever you're doing and |ˈpärtē|. It's also a single off their second LP, which drops January 10th, so drop everything you might be doing then and hit up their album release show!
